The Tracer chassis kit for the TLT is a great value. At $99 it includes everything needed to extend your stock TLT to a 12.5" wheelbase truck including longer custom replacement side plates. A 12.5" wheelbase truck performs much better when rock crawling and also looks much better when using standard 1/10 scale bodies. This chassis kit uses the stock TLT transmission, axles, etc. Be aware the stock TLT center diff is a ball diff and will allow uneven power transfer to the front and rear axles. Use Traxxas slipper pegs to lock the center differential (Traxxas #4685). We have these available here (Stampede Tranny Parts Page). Our "The Stick" battery packs ($25/each) and "The Stick" battery hold down straps work well with this kit (available on the Electronics page). Use this method to lock your axles . (scroll down to bottom of page). Also, this kit was designed to use the stock TLT shocks. If you wish to use higher quality shocks like those on a T-maxx, etc, use a piece of fuel tubing on the upper shock mount screw. We sell this fuel tubing on the suspension page. If the belts on your stock tlt tranny begin to slip, you can use a belt tensioner from a touring car to help stop the slippage. More information and photos of the Tracer kit |
